History and Description

Eduardo Browne has trained dozens of conductors of all ages and nationalities for more than 20 years. His students enjoy important careers in Chile and abroad, conducting wide orchestral, operatic and contemporary repertoire with orchestras throughout the world. The masterclasses have a dynamic team of three teachers who, together, provide an integral training for each of the students: Maestro Eduardo Browne in orchestral conducting, baton, gesture and musical analysis; a professor of theory, harmony and ear training, and a professional actor who specializes in corporal expression for orchestral conductors. All students will receive a diploma signed by Maestro Eduardo Browne and with the seal of Universidad de los Andes.

Repertoire

The repertoire includes orchestral works of varied styles and composers that can be played by a string quartet or chamber orchestra. In the cases of more complex works, Maestro Eduardo Browne has made arrangements that allow the main voices of the work to be covered by all the instruments that are available in the ensemble. In addition, in the case of the International Master Classes with String Quartet, all participants must conduct an operatic recitative or an aria, depending on their conducting level. Once accepted into the masterclasses, Maestro Eduardo Browne will assign repertoire to all the students depending on the conducting level showed in their videos. It is acceptable if the student wants to prepare more works than those assigned.
